Girlguiding Kidlington, through fun, friendship, challenge and adventure empowers girls to find their voice, inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and to make a positive difference in the Kidlington community.

Story

We made it!  1090 miles through France and Spain, including 1710 metres up the Col d’Aubisque in the Pyrenees!  We still cannot believe it.  We did the climb on a glorious day with spectacular views of the mountains all around us.  After 4 hours of climbing, we crossed the line at the top.  I burst into tears of relief and others at the top gave us a cheer and a clap – and I felt you were all there clapping us too!

THANK YOU all for your thoughts and prayers and support, and for your generous donations towards the rebuilding of our Guide Centre in Kidlington.

This was our biggest challenge yet after our 1,000 miles Land’s End to John O’Groats (2005), which raised £2,000 for Girl Guiding and Cancer Research. We have since pedalled round France (2007) and done 1,000 miles in Italy  (2009) but until now we have always avoided the real mountains.

We hope our scary climb inspired you to give generously to the fund for rebuilding Kidlington Guide Centre which plays such an important role in the life of young people in our community. Find out more at:
