My Bridges Walk 2021 · 22 August 2021 ·
A few years ago on August 4th, thanks to a very kind donor's family, I was extremely fortunate to receive a kidney transplant, and it is still going strong. And hopefully it still will, for many years.
But many kidney patients are not so lucky. The list of people needing transplants is increasing all the time. And once you have a transplant there’s no guarantee it will last a lifetime. Many people need a number of transplants in their lives and those who can’t find a donor, spend weeks, months and sometimes years in and out of hospital, or at home, on dialysis, living on restrictive diets and enduring difficult life situations.
Last year I was going to walk the "London Bridges Walk" for Kidney Research Fund, but It was cancelled because of Covid-19. So this year (from 22 to 24 August) I’m walking 30 miles of the Cotswold Way to raise money for the KRF together with my lovely college friend Mo who is coming along to support!
We hope to raise £300, at least! Kidney Research are all the time working on new ways to make more donor kidneys available to patients, and find other ways to treat kidney disease. Please donate whatever you can.
Thanks very much for reading this and your support.
