Story

Thanks for stopping by.

If you're reading this, you probably know that my mum, Sue Polson, died peacefully on 11 April 2021 after a long and increasingly difficult battle with MS.

Never one to just accept what life gave her, she threw herself into supporting the fight against MS - not for her own sake, but for generations to follow. Whether it was fundraising, getting MS Scotland's profile up wherever she could, being a patient advocate or being a lay reviewer of research grant applications, she was tireless in her efforts.

In time she was invited to Downing Street and met not one but two Prime Ministers - we won't say which one she liked better - and not long before her death was awarded one of the MS Society's Shining Stars.

As is the way of things, celebrations of her life must be mainly remote at the moment - though we are thinking of pulling together a proper celebration once restrictions are lifted. If you are so minded though, and feel able to, we would love it if you could dig as deep as you can in Mum's memory to help MS Scotland in its vital work.

The funeral itself will be livestreamed on 27 April at 2pm - details are available via Purves Funeral Directors in Edinburgh.
