Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Sue is ready for her Santa Dash - are you?!

Sue and her friends have their Santa Costumes ready and are planning on doing a 5k seafront dash... and are inviting everyone young and old to join them.

We'll be following the (not) Parkrun Worthing route.
(Look for the signs on the floor)

The course is 5000m (5K) long walk, stroll or run, along Worthing’s promenade – a flat course entirely on tarmac paths.

The start line is in the Splash Point area on Worthing promenade (close to the pier), and it is an out-and-back course finishing adjacent to (the similarly named) Splashpoint Leisure Centre. Please meet at the Splash Pad area between the Leisure Centre & Coast Café at 1.50pm, then partipants will walk down to the start to keep the promenade clear as much as possible – and remembering the social distancing rules. The Santa dash takes you past the Pier and Lido to West Worthing, before turning round and finishing outside Splashpoint Leisure Centre.

For those feeling energetic, we may run up-and-down the pier on the way back too!!

The course is on tarmac but there may be a covering of pebbles following inclement weather due to the close proximity to the beach

In memory of Stuart

All donations will be for the West Sussex South branch of the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, which has launched an emergency appeal for donations to maintain their vital support for people living with MND, a terminal illness – which my husband Stuart had for four years before it finally took him in August 2020.
