Thanks for visiting my page. I am raising funds to support Project Pavitra.
Poor menstrual hygiene continue to affect women in rural communities across India. There is limited access to safe sanitary care products or menstrual education.
Project Pavitra runs Menstrual Education Programs to bring rural Indian girls out of shame around periods.
Menstrual hygiene is a challenging development issue in India. "Sanitary Protection: Every Woman's Health Right" a study by AC Nielsen reveals only 12% of India's 355 million women use sanitary pads. Over 88% of women resort to alternatives like un-sanitised cloth, ashes & husk sand.
The project aims to provide knowhow to handle menstruation & improve female's knowledge of personal hygiene:
1. Generating awareness amongst adolescent girls about menstrual hygiene
2. Distribution of eco-friendly sanitary pads
Vision is empowerment of girls to manage their menstruation in a hygienic & safe way with dignity.
Thank you for your generous support!
