We provide emergency medical care worldwide to people affected by conflict & disasters.

Suits for Suits for MSF was launched by Cambridgeshire businesswoman Kaye Coleman-Rooney. Here's why:

“The news about Ebola seems overwhelming, so I think it’s important to light a candle and do what you can. The idea for a Suits for Suits Day is really very simple.  If you've got a casual work dress code, reversing the ‘dress down Friday’ idea and putting on a suit is something you can very easily do. By contrast, it’s an arduous task to put on a heavy, hot Ebola-treatment suit. The spacesuit-like uniforms – including goggles, mask, gloves, boots and apron – each cost around £40 and have to be destroyed after every use to combat the risk of infection.

Suits for Suits is on track to raise much more than our initial target of £1,000 by Christmas. People are reaching deep into their wardrobes, dressing up to the nines in their best suits, and digging deep into their pockets. All to support the brave and hugely effective work of charity Medicines Sans Frontieres and keep their front-line health workers kitted out in the protective suits they need to keep them safe while caring for Ebola patients.

“The first Suits for Suits Day on 6 November was kicked off  in Cambridge by entrepreneurs in pinstripes (and at least one spacesuit), at Accelerate Cambridge, part of the Cambridge Judge Business School. Down the road in Saffron Waldon, website developers at Intelligent Penguin who found themselves short on formal suit ownership came up with their own inventive sartorial solutions!

Follow up events already planned include a school-wide event at Cambridge Judge Business School on 5 December and we’ve got  news just in of an 11-year old school boy who’s organising a Suits for Suits for MSF Day in his west London school!

Declare your own Suits for Suits Day.
