Hi there! 

We are the team at Cat’s Protection Gildersome and this summer we are trying to raise just £500 to help with our vital care of cats and kittens in the area!

The last year has been difficult for us all, it’s been especially hard for the poorly cats and kittens that have found themselves homeless due to reasons such as redundancies or cost of care. We’ve seen our requests to rehome cats skyrocket as the average household income has decreased substantially.

As the world starts to open up again, were bracing ourselves for more tough times, many routine veterinary treatments had to be put on hold during lockdown and we will see cats who are ill having missed vaccinations. We will see litters of tiny, kittens whose young parents haven't been neutered.  This means we are about to become exceptionally busy as we continue to deal with the impact of lockdown.

Many people are struggling for financial, physical or mental health reasons due to the pandemic and as a result we will see many cats whose owners will come to us heartbroken, because they can no longer care for their beloved cat. Cats Protection will always be here for the cats which is why we’ve been working our socks off to help as many people and cats as we can!!  Throughout the past year we’ve managed to feed, care for, treat and rehome almost 400 cats! Our goal is to push this even further, however with added care comes added cost. This is why donations like yours are absolutely vital in helping us to continue with the work we are doing. Sadly losing the ability to hold events and open days, our fundraising has been massively restricted and the necessary funds we usually raise are very much missed. That's why we need your help...

Your summer gift could save a life: £10 could buy a comfy bed where a cat can recover £30 could provide antibiotics and painkillers for a cat after surgery.  Even £1 goes a long way and will feed a cat for 2 days.  Your donation however big or small could make a difference to a little cats life.
