Campaign by Cats Protection (RCN 203644, SC037711)
As the world starts to open up again, here at Cats Protection we're bracing ourselves for more tough times, we don't know what's going to come through our doors. But we know that we will help every cat that does. Help us by supporting our appeal.

Story

The last year has been difficult for us all as the world starts to open up again.    Many routine veterinary treatments had to be put on hold during this period. This means we are about to become exceptionally busy as we continue deal with the impact of lockdown.

Sadly many people are struggling for financial, physical or mental health reasons due to the pandemic. We see litters of tiny, kittens whose young parents haven't been neutered.  We hear of people who can no longer afford to care for their cats - whether through monetary or health issues.  As a result we will see many cats whose owners or family will come to us - because they can no longer care for their beloved cat.

An example of what we deal with is Betsey.  We know nothing of her history but during Lockdown she came into our care with an existing, serious leg injury.  The vet recommendation was amputation of the affected leg.  The procedure was, of course, expensive but Betsey was a young, , friendly cat who we knew from experience would learn to manage on three legs -  and so it proved.   This beautiful young cat was throughout her treatment the purrfect patient - very affectionate with both the veterinary staff and our volunteer fosterer. She was subsequently rehomed with an experienced cat owner and is now living her best life.  By donating you can help us to support more cats who need help as urgently as she did.

Cats Protection will always be here for the cats but we need your help. Since March 2020 we have had to cancel all of our planned fund-raising events - quizzes, fetes, market stalls etc.  This has obviously had an effect on our income.  Apart from support from head Office with neutering costs we are entirely a self- funding branch.

We have, of course, still managed to take, in, treat and rehome multiple cats such as Betsey during this period and as soon as we are given the "green light" we will start our active fund-raising but until then we need to rely on online appeals.

Your summer gift could help save a life - however small the donation
Can you help the next cat or kitten who comes through the door by supporting our appeal?
