Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
On October 22nd 2007, Jessie Murphy and Andrew Morgan managed to climb Mount Kinabalu - which is 4,095m high.
I am not what you might call super fit, and I struggle with small hills, so for me this was no easy task. It took two days to get to the summit, and was extremely hard. I cried four times and only one lot of tears were 'happy' ones (the view from the top was so beautiful!). Neither of us could walk for two days.
Some parts of the climb you were lowering yourself down slippery rock faces by rope. It was scary and painful. I hope I have made it sound sufficiently bad! :) The only reason we did this was so you lot would give us some money for the lovely orangutans at Sepilok Orangutan sanctuary in Borneo, where i worked over the summer.
I want to try to raise a bit of money for the Orangutan Appeal UK (as I have seen the work they do here at Sepilok and it is vital). So, I would love it if those of you who aren't too skint could give an amount of your cash to the appeal.
P.S Bit of info from Wkipedia:
In 1997, a re-survey using satellite technology established its summit (known as Low’s Peak) height at 4,095 metres (13,435 ft) above sea level, and is therefore also the tallest in Malaysia and on the island of Borneo.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Sepilok Orangutan Appeal Uk will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
