My journey through cancer

My journey through cancer · 30 June 2021
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Today was supposed to be my shaving day but this happened on Wednesday. The hair fell out sooner than I thought. Photos and video to follow.
In 2015 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a shock to all of us but we thought of the positive. With the help of God, my breast and oncology team we'll get through this. I donated my hair to The Little Princess Trust and managed to raise just over £300.00. I had a mastectomy and 16 lymph nodes removed on my right and went through quite an aggressive chemo treatment and radiotherapy.
In 2017, they found a node on my right clavicle. This was sorted out by taking it out and radiotherapy.
I had subsequently had a mastectomy on my left breast and a full hysterectomy as a preventative measure.
In 2019, I was diagnosed for a third time with secondary breast cancer. The cancer had moved into my bones. It's all over and there are certain parts like my hips, left side of rib cage and lower back where its worse than the rest of my bones. Unfortunately, there's no getting rid of it, just keeping it from from spreading.
Mid to end February discovered it had moved into my liver, I was taken off chemo and put forward for a clinical trial which started in tge beginning of April. This did not work either as it continued to spread and to add insult to injury, my liver grew. The trial was stopped in May.
Chemo started on the 11th of June and had my second round of chemo yesterday - so far I'm feeling good. Except for hair loss, heartburn and fatigue I've not experienced any major side effects.
I am thankful and grateful to our awesome God, because without Him I would not be able to get through this journey. We are blessed with loving caring parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, church family and friends.
He brought us to an area where we joined an amazing church family who has been supporting us in so many ways from the beginning. We have made so many friends, whom we can turn to in a heartbeat. And last but not least, our family, near and far. The love, the support, the constant checking up, the chats.
To a special man and a special women we laugh, we share, we cry, we fight, we make up and then laugh some more. You are my rock!!
