Story
At ASCF, families are welcomed into a "home away from home" free of charge, because the last thing we want our families to manage is more financial burdens. Thanks to our HEARTS OF GOLD supporters, you are helping to cover the nearly $125 per night it takes to run each of our 15 private residences, Welcome Cancer and campus!
My sister in law, Erica, believed in making sure the world knew about what it meant to have cancer. She strived to inform and educate those around the world about how cancer affected her life story by sharing ways to take care of yourself as a cancer patient. How to advocate for yourself, understand medication and treatments all while showing you the joy around her while going through treatment. Her dedication and love for ASCF was apparent in her work with the Gold Stroll fundraiser, seeking to bring awareness to others about childhood cancer. Erica was a child of Ewing's Sarcoma cancer and won her battle as a teen. When it came back her heart did not stop bringing sunshine and light to others who fought the same battle. ASCF was there during her journey taking care of her family and was there again when her brother was later diagnosed with lymphoma sarcoma. Their unwavering dedication to the families they work building lasting friendships and lifelong support. We lost our beautiful Erica in August of 2020, but her legacy lives on in our continued commitment to this amazing organization that she loved so much. Though she is gone, they continue to help with our families needs. We need your help in bringing awareness to childhood cancer. Your generous donations are what keeps these amazing families from having to spend money on other things and be with their loved ones fighting cancer instead.
