Smile Train is the world’s largest cleft charity, sponsoring 2M+ cleft surgeries since 1999. Our success owes to our sustainable model of training, funding, and equipping local medical teams to provide comprehensive cleft care that’s always there for their neighbours in need.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

John and I are off on another ride to try and prove that our youth ,vigour and virility are just things of our distant past .We are attempting to do the Grande Trophee Ventoux Master a gruelling 170km bike ride that entails trying to tackle the Giant of Provence (a 2000m high mountain) that we estimate itself might take 2 hours ,..if we are on our game ! So have we BITTEN OFF MORE THAN WE CAN CHEW ? quite possibly ,but our egos won't have it any other way and it's all for a very good cause .

The Smile Train (http://www.smiletrain.org/site/PageServer) is a charity that neither of us are personally linked to but just one that has struck a cord with us both .It is a charity that is set up to provide free surgery to children from around the world that have been born with the most horrendous cleft palate disfigurements .Disfigurements that ,although are not physically handicapping in themselves, too all intents and purposes stop them entering a society that sadly judges too much on first impressions and appearances and therefore from having the opportunities in life that so many of us are able to take so much for granted.

And for just £150-250 their faces and their lives can be transformed, the doctors that perform the surgery give their time free of charge so you can be confident that 100% of the money you donate will really go to putting a smile on someone's face and change a child's life forever .

Many thanks for your support.
