Ks for Carers is a week-long event, taking place from 10 – 17 June 2016. It is organised by Carers Queensland to raise awareness and vital funds to support our state’s 484,000 unpaid family carers.

Participants can nominate to walk throughout the week and track your Ks for Carers, and/or join us for a group 5K walk on the final day, Friday 17 June at 9.30am. We will be going for a scenic  walk commencing at the Carers Queensland office on the corner of Wrigley and Parker Streets, Maroochydore continuing along the Coastal Walk to Alex Bluff Foreshore and returning for a celebratory morning tea. 

You can walk as many Ks for Carers as you like, for an entry fee of just $10. Track your Ks with a walking app or one of our free pedometers. Why not set yourself a target for Ks for the week and get friends and family to sponsor you or enter a team and set a team target. 

Anyone could become a carer at any time so show your support by registering for Ks for Carers today.

The team of staff and volunteers here at the Sunshine Coast office work with unpaid family carers. Some of us are carers ourselves and most have worked alongside those who carefor loved ones who have a terminal illness, disability, chronic condition, mental illness or who frail aged are and fully understand the daily challenges faced by carers. We are aware that there is so much more that we could be doing, but we are limited by our resources and funds. All contributions large or small will be gratefully received.
