East Surrey Domestic Abuse Services is an independent charity providing outreach and associated services to anyone affected by domestic abuse and violence in the borough of Reigate & Banstead and the districts of Mole Valley and Tandridge

Story

Myself, and the rest of the Shearwater Supply Chain team based at our Gatwick office, Raja, Jaqueline, Ramone, Barry, and Jose, have organised a 10K run on behalf of East Surrey Domestic Abuse Services (ESDAS). The event will take place in Crawley on Saturday 04th December 2021. 

ESDAS are an independent charity who provide incredible support for anyone that has been effected by Domestic Abuse within the borough of Reigate, Banstead, Mole Valley.and Tandridge. 

Domestic Abuse can be controlling, coercive or threatening behaviour or violence and abuse between family members or partners. Its more widespread than you think and can happen to anyone of any gender, age, ethnicity, orientation or income.

Did You Know?:

- Domestic abuse will affect 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men in their lifetime.

- Leads to, on average, two women being murdered each week and 30 men per year in the UK.

- Accounts for 16% of all violent crime however it is still the violent crime least likely to be reported to the police.

Has more repeat victims than any other crime (on average there will have been 35 assaults before a victim calls the police).
