The number of babies being admitted to neonatal care is rising. There are now over 95,000 babies every year who need specialist hospital care – that’s one in every eight babies - and with neonatal units stretched to the limit our work is more relevant than ever to ensure the best outcomes for the most vulnerable babies

We provide parents and families with the information and support they need to understand what is happening to them and to mak crucial decisions that will influence their child’s future.

We are involved in over £10.1 million worth of neonatal research to improve care for premature and sick babies.

We also campaign across the UK for the changes needed to ensure that doctors and nurses have the resources, training and support they need to care for babies.  

Bliss champions family-centred care, a pioneering approach which allows parents to be fully involved in their baby’s care and is proven to be better for babies.

Through the Bliss Baby Charter, Bliss works with hospitals around the UK to help them provide this high quality care.
