Trinity's Big Sleep In · 31 May 2020 ·

Trinity is a unique charity operating in the city of Winchester. Its aim is to promote positive, fulfilling lifestyles, emotional wellbeing and long-term changes for those experiencing the effects of domestic abuse and homelessness: substance misuse, mental ill-health, poverty, and social isolation.

Story

My mother Jean Parkinson is staying with us and sleeping out under the stars to raise money for CHAT, a homeless charity back home in
Devon. She will be 93 this month and started out aiming to raise twice her age (£186)*.

Jean has inspired me to sleep out with her this Friday, May 8th. Doing this at short notice gives me a small inkling of what it might be like to find yourself without a warm, safe bed. More importantly it is an opportunity to help local people for whom this is a reality.

I hope to raise twice my age (£112) for Trinity Winchester's Big Sleep In. Trinity provide practical and emotional support to over 600 people each year who are experiencing the effects of homelessness or vulnerability here in Hampshire.

It will be great if you can help them either by donating through this page or holding your own Big Sleep In.

Thank you,

Sue

* To her astonishment Jean raised over £600 in the first twenty four hours. Do check out her page at https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/JeanParkinson1
