When you start to count the people you know that have been directly or indirectly affected by cancer you will surely run out of fingers! Personally I have lost a Grandfather, an Aunt and a colleague to this horrible disease. I also have friends who are survivors of cancer too and some that are still fighting... 

When I told my kids that I was having my head shaved to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society they were horrified! This really brought home to me how incredibly lucky I am.... my heart goes out to all those parents that have very different conversations with their children about cancer or about why they have lost their hair.

My impending baldness is such a tiny thing in the grand scheme of things but it seems that people are happy to donate to this wonderful cause to see it done so bring it on!!!
