Sue's Swimming The English Channel Solo!

Swimming English Channel solo · 28 July 2018
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hi... as a lot of you already know, this year I am under taking the biggest challenge of my life in July by swimming 21 miles of the English Channel solo!
I started swimming when I was 5 years old and swam in a club and for the city of Liverpool through the years.
In 2010 after the death of my lovely mum I took up open water swimming and swam a mile in Windermere at The Great North Swim in her memory. Since then I have swam The Great Scottish and Manchester swims. Coniston and Windermere end to end. Swam The English channel in a relay (2015) and completed in a 3 lake challenge last year.
Swimming the English Channel solo will be the biggest swim I have ever done and I shall be swimming in my mums memory once again and hope she is with me every step (stroke) of the way..... !
I couldn’t do all this without my team behind me who will be on my boat supporting, encouraging and feeding me. My team consists of my lovely understanding and patient hubby Steve Haines, one of My best friends Vicky Forshew and My original Dover Souls channel relay(2015) buddies Karen Smith and Phil Hoyland.
I couldn’t do it either without the support of My Dad Dave, Jenny and Holly who will remain on land.
I would be very grateful if you could Please help me raise money for KIND. A local( Liverpool) charity that helps under privileged children.
Since 1975, KIND have been helping make a difference in the lives of thousands of disadvantaged children and families from across Liverpool and greater Merseyside.
Though our region is improving in so many ways, we still have some of the poorest, most deprived areas in the UK and too many of our children still find themselves living in poverty and facing disadvantage on a daily basis.
Help me make a difference in the lives of thousands of local children..
Ive been honoured to have raised money for KIND before and I would really appreciate it if everyone could please share this post 😘
