Story
The four of us taking part in this challenge have all had family members affected in someway by either cancer or Alzheimers. We have seen the devastating affect that these cruel conditions can have on the person themselves and their family around them. We wanted to do something to raise money to help any future research which in turn may help another family going through similar situations.
I lost my lovely Dad at the beginning of the year to Alzheimers and wanted to do something in his memory. He was such a keen cyclist and indeed did the Manchester to Blackpool challenge many times and so I feel that this is the perfect way to honour his memory and raise money for research at the same time. I have no doubt that it will be hard but I'm certain he'll be with me all the way!
There are 4 of us in the team but only 2 bikes between us, so yes, as you've probably guessed , two of us are on a tandem which will be a mini challenge in itself.... not least being who will take the lead!! It may well offer up some 'You've been framed' moments!
We appreciate any help and support that you feel able to give and it would also be great to see any of you along the route on the day if you are free.
Thank you for your support!
