As all our family and friends know Barbara and Kevin have been attending the Newcastle Maggies centre for approximately 2 years while Barbara endured the gruelling chemotherapy, radiotherapy and endless treatment changes, with the aim of buying more time.
At the beginning of 2023 the signs were becoming obvious that treatment options were not working and her body was gently saying that her resilience was running out.
Barbara never complained she just accepted her fate. On that painful day when mark said he had run out of options there were no tears, she just said 'It was too soon". During the last three weeks of her life she visited her beloved lodge at Barmoor her" Happy Place" said Goodbye to as many of her family and close friends as she could. Supported by Karen and the team in Newcastle she made a will and checked out that her beloved Kevin would be supported after she had gone. Barbara passed peacefully on 13th April.
She has left a huge void in many lives - Kevin, Miss Ellie (much adored labrador) still looks for her , family and friends too many to name. Maggies has continued to support us and we are so grateful .
Barbara did tell me off for entering the GNR again, this is my 16th.Her words were "oh no Susan not again!" I will make my way to South Shields with Barbara in my heart and her photo on my back. Please support Maggies by making a donation so they can continue their amazing work
Sis, Love and Miss you more than words can say
