In 2011 and 2012 I took part in amazing GOLD projects in Tanzania. As part of teams of 6 GirlGuiding UK leaders, I went to Tanzania and trained local Guides and leaders. GOLD projects run in developing countries such as Armenia, Cambodia, Guyana, Latvia, Malawi, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and The Gambia. Each project is different, and aims to meet the needs of Guiding in the host country.

I was very lucky with my fundraising for these projects, but the GOLD Bursary Fund is there to help those who need extra help. This might be to purchase special equipment for their project, or because they find it difficult to fundraise in their area.
