22/7/2010 - UPDATE:

Dear Friends,

The good news is that my cast came off yesterday. I went to the gym this morning and did my ankle strengthening exercises and 10 minutes on a bicycle - very slowly! I am on the road to recovery and will be doing that 10k run sometime soon(ish). I'll keep you posted. In the  meantime, thank you all for supporting me and JVN.

I've decided to run the BUPA 10k run in central London in aid of JVN and to draw your attention to the great work that this small organisation is doing.

JVN (the Jewish Volunteering Network) connects Jewish people in the to suitable volunteering opportunities. They now have 177 organisations and over 2000 volunteers registered on their website www.jvn.org.uk. They work tirelessly to raise the profile of volunteering in the community as well as provide training for organisations seeking to recruit and sustain their volunteers. As the only organisation of this nature JVN is growing rapidly and now needs our support more than ever!
