Susana's 10 Day Step Challenge

Su's 10 Day Step Challenge · 1 May 2022
I was diagnosed with Lupus last year after many years of symptoms, as Lupus is known for being the great imitator (mimicking many other conditions) it can take a long time before a diagnosis is made.
Overtime my symptoms have increased in severity and frequency, with everyday tasks becoming difficult on occasions. I have to adjust and try to improve my quality of life but with Lupus being so complex and treatment options limited there is a long and bumpy road ahead that I have to learn to navigate.
As with most things in life, taking better care of ourselves is the first step. So some lifestyle changes had to be made like, stopping smoking (now proudly smoke free), diet changes (a pro after years of living with Interstitial Cystitis and a GI Motility Disorder). And finally exercise which is the last thing on my mind as someone living with chronic pain.
But despite the joint pain, muscle aches and fatigue (to name a few) I know I have to start somewhere. So I am taking part in the Lupus UK virtual challenge to help raise awareness for World Lupus Day! (10th May 2022).
My challenge is to complete a step aerobics exercise (intensity and duration may vary) every day for 10 consecutive days from 1st May to 10th May.
Wish me luck!
