My family and I have set up this page in memory of my grandmother, Susan Belgrave, who founded the charity now known as Coram Beanstalk (but then known as Volunteer Reading Help) in 1973. Over the following years, she and a growing team of volunteers and supporters established a programme of one-to-one reading help for children aged 3 to 13 across the country. 

Since 1973 over 190,000 children have benefitted from this vital one-to-one support, with thousands of volunteers helping them to develop their confidence, literacy skills and a love of reading, just as Susan herself did for her own children and grandchildren. A wonderful legacy for a wonderful woman.
