Sue's Learn to Swim before I reach 70

Sue McAuley is raising money for Sissinghurst Bun Penny Club

Learn to swim · 29 August 2022

Sissinghurst Bun Penny Club helps people age 65+, who live alone in the village, socialise and connect with each other. It was formed after WW1, raising funds by collecting Victorian "Bun Penny" coins (Queen Victoria with her hair in a bun). The Charity is still going strong with over 50 members.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I want to raise some money for our Bun Penny Club which, like many other charities, has lost many fundraising opportunities due to the pandemic. They work so hard to provide valuable social events for older people in Sissinghurst who live alone. I have been trying to learn to swim on and off for years but my fear of water always beats me. The chance to help this charity is going to spur me on to achieve my aim before my 70th birthday.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
