This summer I am doing a 3 part Race For Life challenge that will push me further than I've ever thought possible. Part 1 is a 5k run at Waddesdon Manor on Sunday 17th May. Part 2 is a 10k run at Campbell Park, MK on Sunday 28th June. Part 3 is a Half Marathon at Lee Valley Country Park in Essex on Sunday 4th October! While I have done plenty of 5k's and a couple of 10k's before, I have never done any further.  I am not a natural runner and don't find it easy so this is going to be a big test both physically and mentally. 

So why am I doing it?  Three people have inspired me. 2 years ago my Dad was diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer which was thankfully caught in the nick of time before it spread. After radiotherapy and hormone treatment the outlook is looking good, but that is sadly not the case for many people. On Christmas Day 2014 a close friend's Dad sadly passed away after a long battle against cancer which despite courses of Chemotherapy had spread through his body. Finally, another friend has been diagnosed with cancer for the fifth time - she just wants to see her young daughter grow up. By doing Cancer Research UK's Race For Life (x3) I am aiming to raise money to aid research into diagnosing and treating this awful disease so that no one else has to lose their parent, child, sibling, partner etc.
