I have always been amazed that hospices are not predominantly funded by the government or NHS. Our local hospice St Luke’s relies on the generosity and commitment of their supporters to raise more than 80% of the costs to allow local people to benefit from their care. 

I regularly see the support and care that St Luke’s provide for people in our area and when I decided that I’d like to challenge myself to complete a sprint triathlon before I turn 30 a good friend said “well you’d seem a lot less crazy if you did it for charity”! So here we are...
