Breeze Challenge Event · 5 October 2014

It rescues abandoned and neglected Rottweilers and helps those who are unwanted. It provides all necessary care, treatment and rehabilitation and finds suitable homes who will adopt them and give them the second chance they so deserve. In 2008 it found new homes for 120 Rottweilers. Please give your support for the most special of breeds - The Rottweiler.

Story

Hi

My cousin Emma, challenged me to a 50km bike ride around the Warwickshire countryside on Sunday 5th October. ( I am more in years than the kilometers I'll be riding)  As its going to be a lot of blood, sweat and tears why not do it for a good cause.

Just over a year ago I stupidly said I'd look after a 45kg Rottweiler, Romeo who was homeless. Up until this point I had fostered a vriety  around 30 fluffy dusters dogs, how difficult could it be!! My original thought was it would only be for a few weeks until we found him a new forever home. But of cause it didn't take him long to get his paws under the table and he's still here. One of the best things that ever happened to me. Love him, Love him, Love him.  But he is a bit of a handful as young boisterous boys often are, he is a work in progress but he is making progress and is full of life and love.

When Romeo first arrived the Rottweiler Welfare Association were very helpful and supportive, giving me good advise and useful ideas.  However, they were unable to re-home him themselves as they were full to overflowing.  So many Rottweilers are abandoned because they need a lot of training and attention in the early years. A lot of people under estimate the time it takes and discard them as it seems more trouble than it worth.  Some are poorly treated and kept in horrendous conditions used a guard dogs.

The Rottweiler Welfare Association aims to:

Rescue abandoned and neglected Rottweilers and help those who are unwanted.

Provide all necessary care, treatment and rehabilitation.

Assess these dogs for adoptability and find suitable homes for them.

Please support this charity, it is only small and  they are doing a fantastic job for and wonderful breed which is much misunderstood and has a bad name perpetuated by bad humans who do not appreciate the love and loyalty a Rottweiler can give.
