Story
From the 4th to the 8th of November several members of the ASAP Birmingham Chapter are going to live off £1 a day for 5 days. We are hoping to get sponsored by family, friends and colleagues to raise money to help reach the target of this project to send deserving children to school in rural Nepal. One of our members, Faheem, went to a rural project in Narshwor in Nepal. He told us a lot about his experiences there as feels deeply about raising awareness regarding poverty in this area.
When we started, £9,610 had been raised for the project (94% of the target). Our aim is to raise money for the last 6%!
Every member who is participating in this challenge will buy food/drinks worth a total of £5, to live off of for 5 days. The only free goods are tap water and salt. We are going to update you by posting pictures, our shopping lists and recipes.
This challenge provides a unique glimpse into the reality of people who have to live ‘below the line’ every day.
