Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. A few weeks ago someone very special to me was diagnosed with breast cancer. The statistics state that 1 in 2 people will be affected by cancer in their lifetime but until it happens to someone in your life it can seem like just a statistic.
I will of course support her every step of the way but I want to actually do something, and something meaningful, not only for her but for all the millions of other people who are faced with this battle on a daily basis. So I have signed up to run 60 miles in September to raise money for Cancer Research UK. The idea is you run a total of 60 miles over the month, ideally 2 miles a day.
Now 2 miles a day might not seem too challenging. And I did in fact used to run quite regularly but stopped due to a knee injury and small children keeping me awake at night. So I am running every single day in September, with dodgy knees, a creaking pelvis and a tired body; it will be hard and it will hurt. But that is nothing compared to what everyone who is diagnosed with cancer is tackling.
If you can give even £1 it will be very much appreciated and every little penny will help go towards the fight against this disease and to kicking some cancer butt. Thank you xx
