I will be tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday 5th June 2021 to raise funds for Young Minds, an organisation helping young people get the best possible mental health support and develop the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is to complete a 24 mile (38.6km) circular route which includes ascending and descending the three highest peaks in Yorkshire, Pen-y-ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres) (total ascent 1585 metres/5200 ft), in under 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Salters' Young Livery & Freedom (YLF) were previously intending to complete the National Three Peaks Challenge in June 2020, however this was delayed due to the Covid-19 outbreak and the Committee has now made the decision to attempt the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge instead in order to comply with government regulations. Some seasoned climbers consider the Yorkshire Three Peaks to be even harder than the National Three Peaks, due to the requirement for 12 hours of continuous hiking with no substantial breaks between mountains.

Our goal is to raise £5,000, which will be matched by the Salters' Charitable Foundation to potentially double our donation to Young Minds. I welcome all donations, no matter how big or small, though I do encourage you to give generously if it is within your means!
