I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the end of February. A couple of weeks later I had a tumour removed from my left breast. Although the operation was a success, cancerous cells were found in a lymph node that was removed so at the end of April I will start a course of chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy. To lighten the load, with the help and support of the team at Hair & Beauty by Kate in Woodhall Spa, I am having 4 Styles of Hair before it's not there! My main aim here is to show that losing your hair from chemotherapy can be a positive experience and why not try a few hairstyles that you may not dare go for normally!! However, on a serious note, I wish to push the importance for self-checking for men & women and attending mammogram appointments. Whilst I know many of my friends have already donated to Jane Means's Great Head Shave for Stand up 4 Cancer, for that we are all so grateful. I don't expect those people to donate again but am extremely grateful to those people who make a donation to Breast Cancer Care.
