Story
Last year, the #NoLimits London to Paris team came together to honour the memory of former Back Up trustee Danny Turnbull who sadly lost his fight to cancer in 2017.
We rode together to remember Dannys spirit of 'believe and achieve' and build on the legacy that he forged from his idea of participating as the first ever hand-cyclist ( with 2 other mates) in the Hot Chillee London to Paris cycling event in 2012. By doing so he empowered a movement towards inclusive Hot chillee events and paved the way for many more future hand-cyclists. Crucially too, it grew respect and awareness of the possibilities in disability sport.
At the beginning of our 2012 London to Paris event not one of the 400 cyclists had ever seen a hand-cyclist before. By the end, our 3 guys were hand-cycling celebrities! Bravo!
The ride last year raised a whopping £140,000 for Back Up and got 6 handcyclists to Paris in the 3 days. After that success we are teaming up with HotChillee again to create another amazing #NoLimits event for 2019, and this time the money raised will go towards supporting Back Up and another incredible charity Access Adventures.
I am delighted to welcome Access Adventures as our partner charity this year. To allow them, through this fundraising, to continue their mission in enabling disabled people to take part in all sorts of outdoor adventure activities. To help people challenge their expectations, release their potential and build on their quality of life.
Ride Believe Achieve.
