building a sustainable orphanage in Sri Lanka

building a sustainable orphanage in Sri Lanka · 5 January 2014
My name is Christine, I used to be a clothes designer having the dream to help orphaned children one day and build a sustainable orphanage. Thirty years passed, and only a few years ago one morning I remembered my dream. I cried and ask the universe to guide me. And all the pieces of the puzzle came together, I collected from my house the most beautiful possessions I had collected over the years, I opened a small charity shop and after a year, in 2011, I became a registered charity, ALALA (All for Love And Love for All). I have visited India a few times where now I am feeding and clothing 40 children.
In November 2012 I was invited to Sri Lanka where I was offered land to build my first orphanage.
It is so important to me to teach disadvantaged children how to live sustainably so they can become self sufficient and learn skills for life, being fully aware and conscious of the eco future of the planet and the environment.
In May 2013 I went back to Sri Lanka and met with the local architect to finalise the plan for the orphanage that has been approved, stamped and signed by the Sri Lankan Government.
I am raising £80,000 towards the building of a sustainable orphanage for 25 children who were lost in the middle of the chaos created by the last Tsunami. The children were stolen and kept into slavery, underfed and beaten. I am working closely with the Sri Lankan government and they are fully supportive of the project.
I would like to be an inspiration to people so they too can achieve their own dream at any time in life. (I am only 57 years old)
Can you help me support “my dream come true” and build a safe home for the children please?
