Sustain Fuel Bank is run by Tonbridge Baptist Church in response to the recent increase in fuel prices.  This winter many people will need to make the impossible choice between putting food on the table or heating their homes.  We think it is unjust that so often the poorest in our society are the ones who have to pay the most for their gas and electric. For those on prepayment cards the rates are much higher than paying quarterly by direct debit where you can choose the best rate.

For many people at risk of hunger, the cost of gas and electricity means they have little money left for heating their home.  Sustain Fuel Bank has been established to work alongside our food bank to provide two weeks’ emergency fuel credit.  

By doing this we are not only able to help people by providing food but also ensuring people have fuel to cook it and a warm home to eat it in.  People will receive fuel assistance as a result of a referral from community agencies such as debt advice, local schools, housing associations and GP surgeries.

All donations to Sustain Fuel Bank are ringfenced and restricted for the work of the fuel bank.
