Thanks for taking the time to visit Susy's Green Army JustGiving page.

A few words by Susy...

"In April 2016 I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC.) I’d caught it early - the tumour was only 6mm and I didn’t have any nodes involved. I had a lumpectomy followed by 4 months of chemotherapy, more surgery to clear the margins and then 19 sessions of radiotherapy.

In May 2018 I was told that the cancer had returned and had metastasised to my lung meaning that it was now stage 4 and incurable. A further PET scan showed that the cancer was also in my bones, lymph nodes and liver".

After a brief spell in and out of Hospital sadly Susy gained her wings on the 27th May this year. She battled on so bravely and with such courage and strength.

What Susy's Green Army would like to do...

Firstly, we are a group of close family and friends who want to make a difference in Sue's memory. We have decided to do something together in aid of Breast Cancer Care who provided such an important role during Sue's battle.

Together with Cliff, and the support of Jessica and Ollie, plus our wider friends and family, we are hoping to raise as much as possible by attempting a number of challenges in the coming months and years to come.

Our first (of many) will be the London to Brighton cycle ride on 15th September 2019.

We now have 34 confirmed Green Army riders

  • Cliff Salmon

We’re all committed to make a difference and remember this amazing lady. Our initial target with 6 riders was £2,500 but we have now set the bar at £5,000+ but would obviously want to raise more..

The 34 riders will be collectively covering a distance of 1,870 miles (55 miles each). £5 per mile per person would get us to over £9,000 and we would love to achieve that.. here’s how your donations can help:.

  • a £10 donation – could help Breast Cancer Care to run their Moving Forward courses and give people with breast cancer somewhere to turn after their treatment
  • a £30 donation – could give someone with breast cancer the specialist information and support they need when they need it most through the Breast Cancer Care Helpline
  • a £40 donation – could allow people with breast cancer to receive immediate free support from a specialist nurse on the Breast Cancer Care Live Chat.
Any help however small would be so genuinely appreciated - please remember to add Gift Aid if you can!

Thank you!
