Sutty's Running 4 Tommy's

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2022 · 3 April 2022 ·
Sadly, last year my wife and I suffered a miscarriage and an ectopic pregnancy which left us both heartbroken.
We were both aware of the risks of miscarriage but we had no idea just how common it actually was until we started to talk about what we were going through with our friends and family.
1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss and most parents never find out why due to a surprising lack of research. Tommy's refuse to accept that a baby's death is just 'one of those things'. Shockingly, until you have experienced 3 miscarriages there is zero support at all. That means in our situation we'd have to experience 2 more miscarriages before we can get help as an ectopic pregnancy isn't classed as a miscarriage.
Changing this is something Tommy's are passionate about. Tommy's are the largest charity carrying out research into pregnancy loss in the UK.
That's why I've decided to run in several charity races this year to raise money and awareness for Tommy's. I'll be running in:
If you are able to donate anything, it will really help Tommy's continue their ground-breaking research into the cause of miscarriage, still birth and premature birth.
At the very least, by simply just sharing this page with your friends it may reach someone who is suffering in silence. If that's you I encourage you to talk to someone - you can even reach out to me! Rebecca and I have found that by just speaking to our friends and family about what we've gone through it's opened up many stories of other couples who have gone through the same thing. You don't have to go through this alone...
Thank you so much for your support, it means the world to us 🤍
