I am running the Lochaber Marathon and would like to put my venture to good use - other than eating cakes. I am hoping to raise money for the Women's Support Project in Glasgow and am grateful for any donation you can make.
About the Women's Support Project
The Women's Support Project is a great organisation providing support to survivors of violence, as well as parents whose children have been sexually abused. They were set up in 1983, and have been at the forefront of campaigning and policy development on issues relating to violence against women. Based in Glasgow, they are a registered charity. They have just been notified of a 100% funding cut by Glasgow City Council, their main funder. This is despite being a very well respected organisation which is highly thought of by other women's organisations, politicians, individual survivors and statutory agencies. The project has launched a funding appeal to try to cover the huge gap in their funding caused by this completely undeserved funding cut. Please consider sponsoring me for the marathon to help raise funds to keep this vital project going.
