What are we doing?
Izzy, Molly, Youbab and Suzanne have decided to use their spare energy during this time of restrictions to each climb Mount Snowdon (3560' ) - this will mean 475 flights of stairs!! We will begin on November 8th, hopefully "meeting" on the summit on Saturday 14th.
Why are we doing it?
Coronavirus can sometimes be quite stressful and frustrating - eg schooling/exams interrupted, unable to enjoy our usual sporting activities, not being to see some family members. However, we live in a part of the world that has many more resources and capabilities than others to respond to Covid-19. We are fundraising for Tearfund, so that people living in poverty will be better equipped to deal with the devastation of coronavirus. Living in poverty is a "mountain" to climb day in and day out by itself, but we are now starting to see the huge impact that coronavirus is having on some of the poorest communities. In places with poor healthcare and less infrastructure, the potential for devastation increases.
How you can help
By sponsoring us, you will help Tearfund's work. Tearfund is a Christian aid and development agency that responds to disasters, and helps communities to unlock their own potential to overcome poverty.
Any donation, large or small, will make a huge difference eg for every £3, Tearfund can provide a family living in poverty with hygiene essentials for a whole month, and for £120 they are able to promote hygiene practices, provide food for families in quarantine and build hand washing station in a local area!
