Someone very special to me is succumbing to this horrible disease.  Hearing about my Dad, himself a very high-flyer in his career, now struggle to find the fridge or know why he picked the telephone up when I phone to speak to him.  I've not seen him since 2019 so the only way of keeping in touch with him is diminishing.  I realise seeing him won't improve that but at least I'd get to touch and hug him.  So, I'm doing what I can to support the charity that carry out important work with this disease and even if I can't help my Dad, hopefully, I will be able to help those that follow in his footsteps.
