The London marathon and other challenges!

London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Until now I had always sworn never to take on a marathon yet here I am preparing for London 2019.
When my workplace's charitable fund the SDL Foundation advertised a place to run for WeSeeHope, a UK charity supporting vulnerable people (often women and children) in Southern and Eastern Africa, into work and towards a sustainable future, I jumped at the chance.
If the worst does happen and you have a family to support, the consequences can be dire if there is no welfare state, no back-up plan, and no support at hand. This is unimaginable to many of us so today I pledge to do all I can to support this charity's work.
As the proud holder of a London Marathon place I will now do my very best to raise money for this very worthy cause. And finally I have found a way to legitimately combine endurance sport with work. Well, kind of :-). While a super fast time isn't the focus of this endeavour, training is underway and I'll keep you updated about how it goes. I'm currently enjoying some nice and short runs around Paris (good) while also planning ahead for when the training volume increases (tough). I'll have to be creative to fit training in with work, parenting, commuting, and the rest! Watch this space :-)
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Thank you for reading and for any amount you can contribute to WeSeeHope. It would mean so much if we can make this happen together!
