Story
I am running the London Marathon for the Snowdrop Trust because they helped support my family during my son Quinn’s terminal illness. Quinn was diagnosed with a rare kidney cancer at the age of 9 months. He had to undergo surgery to remove his kidney and then chemotherapy and radiotherapy. During this time we had to make endless visits to hospital. This was hard for all of us as a family in many ways.
The Snowdrop trust supported us through this difficult time with great sensitivity. They provided medical treatment, nurses and doctors so we could take care of Quinn in the comfort of our own home. They also provided counselling which was of great importance to me as a mother, since my world was falling apart.
Sadly Quinn lost his battle with cancer but I will never forget the
help and support Snowdrop gave us. I want to run the Marathon for them because they provide invaluable support for families who are
struggling to take care of very ill children. Also in honour of our
brave little son Quinn and for mothers who have lost children to
cancer.
