The Royal Free Charity supports staff and patients across the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. From small acts of kindness to huge investments in research, everything we do changes lives for the better. We support our hospitals to go further, faster – delivering impact locally and globally.

Story

I have decided to raise money for the Royal free Charity because both my grandparents were patients there and I feel that they were very well looked after during their final days and I would like to give back.

The piece of equipment I am fundraising towards is for the dementia ward, dementia patients are scared sometimes and confused this piece of equipment can help them communicate with the outside world and make the stay in hospital far more pleasant.

The aim of the Royal Free Charity is to support patients every step of the way to make their experience the best it can be. For each patient that need is different. The Charity provides support through trained volunteers, additional equipment, improved environments and patient based research. The Royal Free London hospital sites include Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals and includes specialist centres for rare diseases as well as general medical care.

I will be planning some fundraising events over the coming months so look out for them on Facebook and Twitter
