Story
So it's been 4 years since I last took part in the Swimathon and I nearly broke myself doing it ( I had to be helped out of the pool at the end) but it's something I wanted to do again to try and raise as much money as possible for such an amazing charity . On the 8th of April I will be swimming 200 lengths of a 25m pool hopefully in under 90 minutes .
I have found more muscles than I ever knew I had, mainly because I now know how much they can hurt (thanks Ryan) . I have also never been so tired with the pre-work training sessions but I absolutely wouldn't have it any other way.
This isn't just about me , there are loads of people who have supported me in my training and I guess that's what Marie Curie do , they support families .
We've all been touched by the passing of someone close to us and just wanted a little more time with them where we can make more memories and that's what the wonderful nurses and volunteers at Marie Curie help with . They work day and night in people's homes across the UK giving both hands on care and emotional support, not just to those living with terminal illness, but their families .
To give you an idea of what a difference your donation can make :
£10 provides 40 bereavement booklets for people who've lost someone close to them
£20 enables a Marie Curie Nurse to look after someone with a terminal illness for one hour, in the comfort of their own home.
£70 lets someone with a terminal illness attend day therapy at a Marie Curie Hospice where they can benefit from gentle exercise , an art class and more.
£180 means a Marie Curie nurse can be there with a family through the night.
