In July 2022, I will be volunteering in Bali teaching local
children the life skill of swimming and environmental education about water.

Drowning is a silent epidemic which claims 360,000 lives every year, most drownings occurring in low- and middle-income countries. As a charity SwimTayka’s envisions a world where no child is denied access to swimming lessons because of their economic status; striving to achieve this by providing free lessons to disadvantaged children and also providing environmental education on water; raising a future generation who will love, care-for and respect the rivers, lakes and oceans along which they live.

I will be volunteering in Keramas, Bali, spending two weeks on an intense swimming workshop with Bali children teaching them the life skills of swimming. For the trip to go ahead I need to fundraise £1500, this money will go towards lodging for the duration of the project, in-country ground transportation, on-site and office support, equipment donations, Swimdo and SwimTayka donations (I pay for my own flights, travel insurance and visa fees). To help my fundraiser I will be completing the three Yorkshire peaks in under
12 hours, doing this in April 2022. I also plan to do other forms of
fundraising events and will update these onto my just giving page as and when
they occur.
