Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Team "SWO to Crow" are undertaking the the arduous task of running, walking or cycling the distance from our Station Warrant Officer here at RAF Wittering (Cambridgeshire) to SAC Crow, a much loved member of our 3 Mobile Catering Sqn in RAF Akrotiri (Cyprus). This distance totals to 2684 miles, with the plan of fitting in a return jouney.
We are partaking in this challenge to raise money for the Williams Syndrome Foundation which is close to our hearts as a Sqn, as one of our friends and colleagues' son Henry is diagnosed with the disorder.
Williams Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that occurs randomly and affects around one in 18,000 people in the UK.
Children with Williams Syndrome tend to be social, friendly and endearing. Parents often say the joy and perspective a child with WS brings into their lives is unimaginable. For anyone that meets Henry this is clear from the start. However, there are major struggles as well, many babies have life-threatening cardiovascular problems. Children with WS need costly and ongoing medical care and early interventions (such as speech or occupational therapy). Our aim is to help that cause and help raise awareness of this rare syndrome.
Any donation helps so please dig deep!
