Autism Guernsey is an independent charity which is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with autism and their families. We seek to share our knowledge and expertise with parents, carers and other professionals in order to support the development of skills and strategies needed to provide the best care and support. We have pioneered a number of services, events and clubs for both adults and children. As a registered Guernsey charity, Autism Guernsey receives no statutory financial backing, and all funds raised go towards work carried out in Guernsey. We provide a range of services, clubs and social groups for adults and children on the spectrum and their families or carers. These range from enabling children to take part in activities that they might otherwise find difficult, a personalised outreach service, to parent support groups, interest groups, youth groups and an advisory service.

Story

Autism Guernseys 365 campaign captured our hearts and our imagination and as one of Guernseys leading, and longest running, estate agents and property managers we wanted to do something that would not only raise funds for the charity, but also involve as many people as possible.

The local charity was launched in August 2013 to ensure a positive future for individuals affected by autism in the Bailiwick. The organisation is self-funding and continues to grow to cope with an ever increasing demand from those needing its help and support.

So, 12 staff at Swoffers will journey 700 miles in 36.5 hours to raise funds for Autism Guernsey and mark the 70th anniversary of Liberation Day.

Through a combined effort, we intend to swim 25 miles, cycle 450 miles and run 225 miles beginning at 6am on Friday 8 May and finishing at 6.30pm on Saturday 9 May.

On Liberation Day Swoffers' staff will be running on treadmills adjacent to the crossing between North Beach car park and the Liberation monument where islanders can contribute to the fundraising effort.
