In loving memory of Sylvia Harrabin

Sylvia sadly passed away on 24th February 2022, just a few weeks before her 90th Birthday.
In recent years, she dedicated much of her time to supporting the Coventry branch of Samaritans. She loved sorting through donations and staffing the shop, and for a number of years even acted as branch Treasurer, putting her passion for figures to good use after she retired.
But for Sylv, the most important role was as a caring and compassionate member of the Listening Team. Gran recognised and understood the true value and importance of ensuring everyone always has someone to listen. An incredibly difficult role to fulfil, she forever had an open mind and open ears. And was, at the same time, a locked vault, knowing, and often telling us, they “weren’t her stories to tell”.
But now, this is her story. Sylvia was a proud Coventrian, tirelessly defending the City against any critics. She, her Husband Hubert, and now her Sons and Grandchildren have all worked incredibly hard to improve the landscape of Coventry. An impressive legacy she leaves behind.
For these reasons, in loving memory of Sylvia, we are fundraising for Samaritans and also for Historic Coventry Trust. If you wish to make a donation to Historic Coventry Trust, please visit this link: https://localgiving.org/donation/historiccoventrytrust
