From Sunday 28th February until Sunday 18th April I will walk 5K each day to raise money for research into Rett Syndrome.  That’s 50 days.  My granddaughter, Summer is now 11 years old and at the age of 2 years was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome.  She developed normally at first, reached the first milestones in time but never seemed to have the inclination to crawl.  She has never walked and is non-verbal but understands and is not brain damaged.  Rett Syndrome prevents her making the protein for brain function.  She is dependent on others especially her parents for every single aspect of her life.  Reverse Rett is a small UK charity raising money for a cure and treatment for Rett Syndrome. I know times are hard for everyone at the moment but please donate to help find a cure for Summer and other girls and women with Rett Syndrome.
