SolidariTee Aleppo to Lesvos Challenge 2021 · 22 November 2021

This month, we're running, cycling and knitting our way from Aleppo to Lesvos - a collective 1,201km - in solidarity with refugees and asylum seekers. By donating to our challenge, you're supporting our vital legal aid grants.

Story

I am fundraising for a UK student charity known as ‘SolidariTee’ that provides a variety of support services to refugees and asylum seekers.

I intend to raise funds by taking part in the ‘Aleppo to Lesvos Challenge 2021’, which will continue until the end of 8 December.

The Challenge bears the title ‘Aleppo to Lesvos’, because many refugees from the conflict in Syria make a perilous 1,201 journey of 1,2021 kms from the City of Aleppo in Syria to the Greek island of Lesvos. After completing this dangerous journey, they face an uncertain future in detention camps, which have at best very basic facilities.

From earlier this month up until the end of 8 December, I will be undertaking a variety of walking, running, and possibly other physical activities, as part of a team of volunteers from the North of England’. This team, together with other teams from all over the UK will try to cover the symbolic distance of 1,201 kms, which represents the distance from Aleppo to Lesvos.

Please feel free to donate, and your money will go to a good cause.
